This is a family run hotel offering a really good level of service. The owners are actively involved in the running of the hotel and they offer one of the warmest welcomes in the area. As an added bonus there is also a Public Bar "The Badger Bar" attached to the rear of the property accessible through the Hotel or from the street. It is exceptionally popular with tourists and locals especially in summer as a it has a large beer garden.
The building was built in 1624 and is a Grade II listed building. It fits in perfectly with the surrounding countryside and offers a traditional Cumbrian place to stay.

The restaurant is located at the front of the hotel and is a well designed mix of light and dark wood. It has very large windows which let in a lot of light it also has some interesting lighting features which make it feel even more spacious.
The rooms are medium sized, very nicely decorated and well maintained the rooms are traditional in style in keeping with the age of the building.
